Roofers in Kingston Upon Thames

Kingston upon Thames is a historic riverside market town in south-west Surrey, its ancient core around the market place and the Thames bridge surrounded by prosperous Victorian, Edwardian and modern streets. The roofscape ranges from clay plain tile and decorative tile-hanging on the older and Arts-and-Crafts houses to natural slate on the Victorian terraces, with substantial detached properties whose complex roofs carry numerous hips, valleys and dormers — the places where water most often finds a way in.

Beside the Thames, the low riverside ground brings damp and localised flood awareness that keeps gutters and valleys under steady load, while the affluence of the area means roof complexity, rather than coastal exposure, is the main challenge. For owners here, concentrate survey attention on the valleys, hips and dormer junctions of the larger roofs rather than the open slopes, match clay tile and tile-hanging on the period stock, and keep gutters and flashings maintained against the river-valley damp.
