South Lanarkshire runs from tenement Glasgow at Rutherglen and Cambuslang, through a purpose-built New Town at East Kilbride, out to the Georgian burgh of Lanark and up onto the bleak Lowther and Leadhills uplands. Getting a roof repaired here means first working out which of those worlds your property belongs to, because the law changes with it.
